User Manual
Everything you need to fly with your AI First Officer. Last updated July 2026.
1 · Getting started (once)
- Create an account at copilot.atlantic-iot.com and pick a plan
(there's a low-cost 1-week trial). Your subscription is tied to your account and works on any device.
- Install the SimConnect bridge on your MSFS PC — open PowerShell and paste:
irm https://copilot.atlantic-iot.com/install.ps1 | iex
It downloads everything, finds your MSFS Community folder (2020 & 2024, Store & Steam),
puts an "AI First Officer Bridge" shortcut on your Desktop and only asks one thing: start now?
Press Y. Full details: install guide.
- Sign in in your browser — voice and AI are built in, there are no API keys to manage.
2 · Each flight
- Start MSFS and load into the cockpit.
- Double-click "AI First Officer Bridge" on your Desktop — the bridge starts and your browser opens the app.
- Watch the SimConnect light top-left: 🔴 bridge not running → 🟡 bridge up, waiting for MSFS → 🟢 live telemetry.
- Hold Right Alt and talk. That's it.
First time only: allow the microphone when the browser asks, and click anywhere once so the F/O's voice can play.
3 · Talking to your First Officer
- Push-to-talk: hold Right Alt (works inside MSFS via the bridge) or hold the on-screen orb. Rebind the key in Settings.
- Hands-free: enable VOX in Settings → Voice & Audio — the mic opens automatically when you speak.
- Typing: click the keyboard icon next to the orb.
- The F/O speaks English only and answers with real aircraft data — fuel, weather, speeds and
systems come live from the sim, not from imagination.
Ask anything a crew member would know: "What's our fuel?",
"Set V-speeds 138, 142, 148", "Give me the approach briefing".
4 · Electronic checklists
Real airline checklists, run as spoken challenge-and-response. The A320, A330, A350 and Boeing 777 use
genuine normal-checklist cards; more types are data files away.
Running one
- Say "Preflight checklist" (or open the checklist panel and click a phase).
- The F/O announces the checklist and reads the first challenge — e.g. "Gear pins and covers".
- You answer — "Removed". The F/O reads it back and moves on.
- If the aircraft disagrees with your callout (say, parking brake actually off), the F/O challenges:
"Standby, Captain — Parking Brake is showing Off." Fix it, or repeat your answer to override.
Voice commands during a checklist
| "Continue checklist" | resume after an interruption |
| "Skip item" / "Complete item" | move past or tick the current item |
| "Previous item" / "Go back" | step back one item |
| "Cancel checklist" | stop the checklist |
Phases follow each aircraft's real card (Airbus: Cockpit Preparation → Securing the Aircraft;
Boeing: Preflight → Shutdown). Common names like "before takeoff checklist" map automatically.
5 · Charts & briefings
- Built-in charts — always AIRAC-current, in a clean zoomable viewer:
🇺🇸 US (FAA), 🇬🇧 UK (NATS), 🇦🇹 Austria (Austro Control). Diagrams, SIDs, STARs, approaches.
- Everywhere else — one-click ChartFox links.
- Briefings — runway data, decoded weather and NOTAMs for departure, arrival and alternate,
plus AI-spoken departure and approach briefings.
6 · Flight plan & live map
- SimBrief import pulls your route, fuel and times into flight memory.
- The moving map tracks your aircraft live (follow mode — drag to look around, tap the
crosshair to re-follow).
- Zoom into any airport and runways with lettered taxiways appear, drawn from OpenStreetMap.
- Distance/ETA to the next fix and destination, with proactive TOC/TOD calls.
7 · Automatic callouts
- Takeoff: "eighty knots / one hundred", V1, rotate, V2 — after you set V-speeds.
- Landing: "fifty, forty, thirty, twenty, ten" from the real radio altimeter.
- Safety: immediate overspeed and stall warnings.
- Monitoring: waypoint, TOC/TOD and configuration awareness throughout the flight.
8 · Settings that matter
| Where | What |
| Voice & Audio | PTT key, hands-free VOX, mic/speaker devices, voice style — and
Test microphone & voice, which checks every stage and tells you exactly what's wrong. |
| Simulator | Bridge IP (use ip:port if 8080 is taken); live telemetry readout; route string. |
| Callouts | Toggle each callout family. |
| Integrations | SimBrief username, VATSIM, SayIntentions. |
| Advanced | Subscription: see your plan, turn auto-renewal on/off, delete your account. |
9 · Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Fix |
| 🔴 SimConnect dot | The bridge isn't running — double-click the Desktop shortcut on the sim PC. |
| 🟡 stays yellow | Bridge is fine; MSFS isn't in the cockpit yet (it connects automatically once you are). |
| Doesn't hear me | A clear 🎙️ message tells you why (mic blocked / busy / missing). Also check you're holding PTT. |
| Reply text but no sound | Click anywhere once (browser autoplay), check the tab isn't muted. A 🔊 "tap to hear" prompt appears when this happens. |
| "Session needs a refresh" | Sign out (top-right door icon) and sign in again. |
| "Daily usage limit reached" | Generous per-plan cap, resets at midnight UTC. Max has the highest ceiling. |
| It transcribed another language | The product is English-only; foreign speech is politely rejected — say it again in English. |
⚠ Simulation only. Nothing here — charts, performance numbers, callouts — may be used for real-world aviation.
